Someone Better

October 15, 2018 by szachik@pvs.org 4 Comments

By Fae Dowae

I will let my eyes

adjust to

the colors as they

fade and

the world takes on a

muted tone.

Colors will be less vibrant

than before, and

everything will

wilt.

The beauty that

I once saw all

around me will

fade until it is

almost gone.

I will be okay with this

because I will know

that you have been happier since

you found

a more beautiful love with

Someone Better.

“Fae Dowae”? How ’bout “Fay Dawae?” That way it’s an anagram for “fade away,” which in itself is a brilliant title for this really solid poem.

Absolutely love this. really like the concept of how we fade from others lives either intentionally or unintentionally. Its difficult when you realize someone has moved on,it hurts, but having such a well done poem about it will allow people to cope better.

    Dear Fae,

Peter Kadel speaks for me as well.

I’d love to know more about you.
Your poems always “ring true” with me.
    Simple and poignant.
And odd that you and I share the same name.
    How significant is that!

    Admiringly,

    Fae Dingman
